STEP 2: Connect the PVCX device to the vehicle's diagnostic port.
Turn the key on to the run position (but do not start).
Does the PVCX device screen read “ALL FILES FOUND”
YES – Click the check mark, your vehicle is ready to flash. Go to STEP 4: FLASH TUNE
To add additional tune files go to STEP 3: DOWNLOAD TUNE FILES
NO , the screen reads:
- NO COMPATIBLE FILES FOUND
- STK FOUND - TUNES NEEDED
- TUNES FOUND STK NEEDED
- VIRTUAL READ - FILES NEEDED
– Continue below to DOWNLOAD TUNE FILES.
NONE - Only the gauge screen is shown. This can be caused by not updating the firmware - Go to STEP 1
It is possible you have updated firmware and have accidently paired the PVCX device to the vehicle, which will disable the tune wizard. Go to STEP 3 to download tunes.
HOW TO PAIR THE PVCX
Connect the PVCX device to the vehicle you will be flashing.
On the device go to MAIN MENU> DEVICE TOOLS>DEVICE INFO> PAIR WITH VEHICLE
The screen will read “LOCK TO VEHICLE?“ If you wish to lock the PVCX to the vehicle turn the key on and click the check mark.
Once locked to a vehicle, you cannot unlock the device. The PVCX device will only communicate with the locked vehicle.
When you select a tune file to flash with an unlocked vehicle, you will be prompted “LOCK TO VEHICLE” before you can flash.
If you have paired the PVCX and would like to download TUNE FILES go to STEP: 3 DOWNLOAD TUNE FILES.
ECU READ
The screen reads: ECU READ SELECTED
This means the PVCX device needs to read your stock STK file, you will need this to download compatible tune files. ECU Read takes 15 minutes, do not turn the key off.
Once the ECU READ is complete, continue to STEP 3. DOWNLOAD TUNE FILES. If there are no downloadable tune files for your vehicle, please contact our support team.
Note: .stk (Stock) files can be read and saved for future use.
