The Australian round of 2007 world Moto GP at Phillip Island saw something a little different this year.
BP Fuels, along with motorcycle industry heavyweights Serco Pty. Ltd. (Dynojet Australia Dealer)
and Peter Stevens Motorcycles all joined forces to put on a massive live demonstration to show
the advantages of using BP Ultimate Fuel compared to regular unleaded fuel.
This display consisted of 2 K7 GSXR1000’s supplied by Peter Stevens Motorcycles.
These bikes were fitted to two Dynojet Model 200i Dynamometers and warmed up with lots of RPM;
drawing a large crowd. We ran through some commentary explaining how behind the scenes
both Motorcycles were run in to the same mileage one on Regular Unleaded and one on BP Ultimate.
Two Power Commanders were fitted and both machines were Fuel Mapped to that same fuel,
for an even comparison.
We simultaneously Power tested these machines side by side, with the Winpep7 Make Run
screen displayed on large Plasma screen TVs during the run. When the power test sample
was complete, the Graph screen was displayed showing the overwhelming Horse Power results.
To demonstrate that the riders were not effecting the results, the demonstration was repeated
after the riders switched bikes.
Once the presentation had concluded we then conducted some question time in regards to
BP Ultimate fuel, Power Commander and Dynojet Dynamometers.
The entire joint project was a huge success for all parties involved and rated very high
with the crowd, plans are already underway for 2008 MOTO GP!!.
